Very rare issue of the 1950s vinyl and hard plastic 20" Betsy Wetsy doll.
 
This sweet dolly just about 'never' seen. In my 30+ years of collecting and documenting Tiny Tears, Betsy Wetsy, Dy-Dee and other baby dolls, I have only seen this doll a handful of times. Her more common all vinyl with saran hair issue is seen often enough.

Like all Betsy Wetsy dolls she was manufactured to drink and wet; her mechanism no longer works. She does have pretty eyes with all her full and even brush lashes. All facial painted features are intact and she has pretty rosy cheeks. There are a few very light marks to her face, and her molded curls surely have wear as well. She has an all vinyl five-part body that is clean and all limbs move freely and allow her to pose nicely, sitting or standing. There are a couple of marks on her leg (see photo), and a couple of very pale pink marks (one on her toes).
 
She does come wearing her original diaper cover and pretty dress that closes at the back with two donut snaps. I have added a nice pair of 1950s soft molded rubber shoes, and a new pair of rayon socks, as well as a baby bonnet to complete her outfit. Her original clothes are in lightly played with but excellent condition.
 
Perhaps not a perfect baby, but perfectly lovely and if you collect Betsy Wetsy, Ideal dolls, or baby dolls she would be a welcome addition to your nursery.
