Super RARE 1931 Effanbee 1st Edition 10" Patsy Baby -- Predates your classic and more familiar Patsy BabyKIN.
This most adorable and charming Patsy Baby is EXTREMELY RARE. She/he is the EARLIEST -- First Edition -- Patsy Baby circa 1931, when Effanbee brought out a composition head that had a different face from their later issue we are all familiar with and love. She is known as a 'transitional doll', with painted eyes.
This baby is discussed and photographed on pages 21 and 22 if the 'Patsy Doll Family Encyclopedia'.
Baby Patsy is in excellent condition. Only lightest surface crazing and very little paint wear. She has light blond sculpted curls, and bright blue side-glancing eyes.
Just about the rarest of the Effanbee Patsy Family dolls, having seen only one other in 25 years of Effanbee collecting. This doll is depicted in the "Patsy Family Encyclopedia of Collecting" on page 22, and its history on page 21.
I have had several inquiries over the years from avid Effanbee Patsy collectors seeking this adorable doll and finally she appeasrs once again.
Baby Patsy is strung securely to pose her. Her darling yellow curls have almost no paint wear.
She wears her original white cotton dottred Swiss gown and slip, with matching bonnet, and original blue and cream wool sweater and bonnet set. Added pretty blue cotton crochet booties.
The gown is TAGGED with the early golden/red cloth tag at the back.
Includes her 'PATSY BABYKIN' golden metal heart bracelet.
She came to me in this darling homemade bassinett. The net lace and pink polished cotton set is handsewn to an oval fruit basket that was popular back in the 30s. There are a couple of holes in the next lace, but certainly overall very nice and presentable. I added a little rosebud pillow for comfort.
Lovely RARE edition of Patsy Baby!
