Vintage 1930s Effanbee original layette romper for your 20" Dy-Dee LOU Baby doll.
 
This is the ONLY seersucker romper in the red stripe I have seen in 30 years of collecting Dy-Dee.
 
Beautiful example of this perhaps well known seersucker striped romper. There is no 'bleed' to the red cotton floss embroidery as can be common with these suits. Early version where the belt is attached to the seams at the back. The smaller sizes of these rompers had elastic puffed sleeves and leg openings -- this largest one has banded gathered puffed sleeves and omits the elastic in the legs. There are two buttons at the crotch to faciliate changing Dy-Dee Lou's diaper.
 
Made of cotton red-and-white striped seersucker. Bright white polished cotton collar with embroidery accents. Ruffled front placket with mother-of-pearl buttons Closes at the bottom with 2 buttons. Attached belt buttons to the front.
 
This is the original layette romper called out on the content card enclosed with the trunk layettes. Limited deluxe layettes included this suit in all Dy-Dee sizes. HARD TO FIND and a treasure to add to your baby's nursery layette.
