Have you ever seen such an adorable baby??? This is an absolutely charming 12" Baby Dear from around 1962, and she arrived in her original display box, dressed in her authentic blue batiste dress, diaper, and booties. The seller mentioned "her plastic had faded," but he wasn't familiar with dolls, especially the delightful Vogue Baby Dear line.
I just HAD to see her in person! When she arrived, after a little cleanup from her less-than-protected storage, I dressed her in a new, reproduction copy of her original dress. Why? Because she is SO stunning, and her original dress didn't quite highlight her beautiful features — her vivid pink mouth, blue eyes, and GORGEOUS reddish-blonde hair. She is simply STUNNING~
I thought I might share her with you — The seller said her color had faded, but I don't see that at all; she is uniformly and evenly 'colorless' everywhere, including under the neck at the body and at the hair rooting.
What do you think? At first, her lack of flesh/pink coloring might be a surprise, but once cleaned up, any mother would adore her unique charm.
For those of you who have loved Baby Dear longer than I can claim... this is surely a factory anomaly, a 'one-of-a-kind' or factory mistake. However, she was in her original box and dressed, so it's hard to believe she passed quality control like this.
I LOVE HER HAIR!!
Now, I just have to keep her out of the sun... no beach days for this baby!
